The Pre-licensing Course, also known as “the 5-hour course,” is a DMV-designed classroom course that provides provides knowledge you will need as a new driver. All New York State permit holders are required to complete this class before scheduling a road test.

We just received word that Governor Cuomo has approved a distance learning 5 hour pre-licensing course. As of now, there is still no in-classroom course available due to COVID-19 restrictions. In order to process you for a class, please make sure your computer/electronic device (must have a camera) and can handle the system requirements first. You can find the requirements here:
If your computer or electronic device does not support these requirements, you will be unable to do the course and will be kept on a waiting list until the classroom version is allowed to be conducted.
All classes are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We no longer accept walk-ins. Please contact us by phone or email to reserve a seat. Payment of $49 is due at time of registration. No shows for a reserved class will incur a 20$ cancelation fee.
All classes start promptly and please bring your New York State Photo Permit. (If you have the temporary paper permit, please wait to attend class when you receive the photo permit in the mail.)
