COVID-19 UPDATES: CURRENT BUSINESS RESTRICTIONS

The Pre-licensing Course, also known as “the 5-hour course,” is a DMV-designed classroom course that provides the knowledge you will need as a new driver.  All New York State  permit holders are required to complete this class before scheduling a road test. 

The course covers many important topics, including:

driving within the highway transportation system

driver habits and skills

feelings, attitudes and risk taking

alcohol, other drugs, and driving.

Cost of the course is $50 and is  due at time of registration.  No shows for a reserved class will incur a $20 cancelation fee.  

All classes are by APPOINTMENT ONLY via DISTANCE LEARNING or IN-PERSON at our location in the City of Rochester. 

IN-PERSON Classes Require the following:  A mask  Please call our office  for class availability for IN-Person classes and to register. 

Distance Learning Classes Require the following:

Cellphone, computer, or electronic device with a camera.  

A picture of your photo permit sent to us. 

You cannot be in a moving vehicle when attending the class either as a driver or a passenger. 

Although this class is  distance learning we want to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning. 

Please remove any outside distractions when class is being taught and limit any disruptions.  

Completed certificates will be made available for pick up  or can be mailed to you at your request.
